The Moody 54 Decksaloon one level living concept takes a unique approach to modern yacht design at over 50ft. Simply open the sliding doors and you will enjoy a panoramic view from the living area and the spacious cockpit on the same level. The combination of the large cockpit with table as standard and open aft deck is ideal for spending time with family and friends and quickly becomes the place to congregate on-board.

The twin helm stations are the spot where all the threads come together. From the engine to the sails, any part can be controlled by a single person at the helm. In those wet or windy times you can operate the yacht from inside, which can be easily done by the autopilot and throttle at the chart table. An extra high bulwark, grab handles on the saloon roof and the fixed railing give a secure passage along the side deck, even if the weather gets rough. This is often appreciated by the younger crew members and dogs alike!

The interior options are a plenty – for those who prefer a cooking area separated from the saloon, you can choose the cabin concept with a large galley down below. This version offers more working space and stowage. Moreover, it allows for so much daylight that it does not feel like being down in the hull. No matter which galley configuration, you will be provided with every convenience. Interior wood choices can be chosen to suit your style, such as cherry or a light oak, with lovely detailing features throughout. The amount of space and headroom in the interior is quite amazing.

This yacht has state of the art systems with a C-Zone touch pad to control all electrical items – bow thruster, stern thruster if you choose, electric in-mast furling and even the option of powered furling for the headsails. All of these systems are controlled by one easy touch at the helm, meaning that even at 54ft she can be easily handled shorthanded.

Based on the same hull as the Hanse 588 designed by the very well renowned Bill Dixon, these yachts really sail well and several have done the Sydney Hobart race and gone transatlantic with the ARC rally.

With four separate cabins and three heads and showers, there is room for eight crew in comfort. The Moody 54 DS combines the attributes of a monohull, a powerboat and a catamaran. It really works!
