Based on the smaller Albin 28 Tournament Express, the Albin 31 Tournament Express is a distinctive Downeast-style fishing boat whose spacious interior allows her to double as a capable family cruiser.
The 31 TE is built on a modified V hull with a deep forefoot and wide 12’4″ beam. The double doors open from a spacious cockpit into the pilothouse. Wide side decks with high railings and good handholds and 2 solar panels. On the mast is the radar dome, and a KVH sat TV dome. Along both sides of the coachroof are two side accessed storage lockers.
A heavy Maxwell electric anchor windlass leads to the bowsprit and Danforth type anchor.
The cockpit comes with a transom baitwell and fish box, and a transom door leading to the swim platform along with in-deck storage and rod holders. SeaDek faux teak decking that is soft to walk on has been installed in the cockpit, and the transom has a very realistic varnished teak effect vinyl wrap.
The forward cabin sleeps four with an athwartship double berth aft of the galley and a convertible dinette/double berth forward.
There’s a separate stall shower in the head compartment with an electric head and sink.
The helm deck features an upgraded comfortable helmsman’s seat and a small wet bar area with fridge to starboard, and a settee and removable table to port. The flooring also has C Dek faux teak which is comfortable and cuts down the noise. Large windows provide great visibility, and the forward center one, plus the side windows open for good ventilation.
SWEET CAROLINE has twin Caterpillar 300 diesels and a generator, air conditioning, inverter and a nice suite of electronics. The Albins are well proven and are solidly constructed. This is a great boat!
