Broker's Comments

Moody DS54 #057, HARMONY, was ordered by her first owners at the Newport Boat Show and delivered in the summer of 2019. She exemplifies the popular and cleverly designed Moody DS54, featuring a stunning dark blue hull and low-maintenance Flexiteek decking. The interior includes a raised floor and seating in the saloon table area, a change implemented from hull #55 onwards, providing much more headroom over the port guest cabin berth. Finished in Mahogany, with beige leather upholstery and black-flecked Corian countertops, she is the galley-up version, equipped with extra twin-drawer fridge-freezers, a washing machine, diesel heater, 60Kbtu air conditioning, generator, watermaker, and much more.

Extremely easy to sail yet very fast, the boat is equipped with twin electric furlers, a self-tacking jib, and electric in-mast furling.

Forward, there is a sail locker, followed by the owner’s cabin with a large centerline bed and en-suite head and shower. Aft of that is the large guest cabin to port, featuring a second head and shower, with a second guest cabin to starboard.

Aft of the saloon is a fourth twin-berth cabin, another head, and a washer-dryer. In the cockpit, there is a large, varnished fold-out table, a drinks fridge, and comfortable seating, protected by removable mesh side and rear curtains. Additionally, there is a large cockpit locker containing the watermaker. Under the rear deck is a dinghy stowage area accessible via the hydraulic fold-down swim platform.

HARMONY has spent most of her time being lightly cruised in New England. She spent one winter in Florida and another in the Caribbean. Two additional winters were spent stored inside a heated building. The replacement cost would be at least $1.8 million.

Owner's Comments

My wife and I fell in love with this Moody DS54 at the Newport show. We felt she was the Queen of the Show – so majestic. This Moody had room, light, quiet strength, and easy comfort. We have followed her since. When she came up for sale, we knew this was meant for us. We’ve sailed her with three other couples between New York City and Martha’s Vineyard. She is perfect for entertaining friends, sailing offshore, and fishing off the stern. We loved her so much, we continued to keep her in pristine condition and added remote monitoring with highspeed internet so we could constantly be in touch.

We will be back to boating but for now we have family health matters that need our attention. Rather than have her docked alone and not used, we felt that she would be better appreciated by another admirer.
