Broker's Comments

HOPE is probably the most special Najad 332 ever built. Ordered by her current owner, she was delivered in the spring of 2006. She has an extra-tall GMT carbon mast and boom, rod rigging, with no forward lower stays. Her carbon bow sprit is retractable.

Upon arrival in the US, at Jamestown Boatyard in RI, they faired and templated the bottom to a glass-like finish. While she was bought so that her owner could retire from racing (he had a Mumm 36 before), the pull of distance racing was just too much, so she competed for several years in the Chicago Mac race and has won it!

She has an extensive sail inventory of North 3DLs and several asymmetrical gennakers. Needless to say, the boat absolutely flies and will outsail many larger boats.

She was trucked to RI in 2017, and with a total crew of 3, including the owner, sailed transatlantic from Rhode Island back to her build place in Henan, Sweden. After storing for the winter at Najad/Orust Yacht Service, he then sailed the following year back to the US, via the Faeroes, Iceland, and Greenland.

She is a compact classic Najad and is easily handled by a couple or singlehanded, with a very seaworthy hull shape. Down below, the interior has the rich Najad mahogany and leather upholstery. She has great space down below and a proper chart table. HOPE is in fantastic condition, having spent every winter stored inside (usually heated), and most of her life has been sailed in fresh water with no expense spared on maintenance.

This boat is an utter gem and not to be missed!

Offered to co-brokers on a commission split of 50/50.

Owner's Comments

After 17 really fun seasons on HOPE, where she has exceeded my expectations on every front, but now it’s time to hang up my sailing gloves and become land-based. She is one beautiful, fast, strong, safe and fun boat.

Manufacturer’s Comments

On the outside, the Najad 332 features the new style with the thin side stripe and double water¬lines, giving the impression of a lower freeboard, accentuating her shear lines and giving prominence to her raised bow, with fine entry. The 332’s deep cockpit benefits from excellent weather protection from the stylish windshield on top of the coach roof, a signature feature of Najad yachts.

The interior is beautifully crafted in African mahogany, with contemporary styling touches on the doors and lockers. A beautifully compact yacht that has an excellent galley, pristine heads, proper chart table, and 2 separate staterooms.
